About the QLD & Northern NSW Regional Health Collaborative

Gold Coast Health, together with our partners, has formed the QLD & Northern NSW Regional Health Collaborative to gain recognition as a Centre for Innovation in Regional Health (CIRH).

The QLD & Northern NSW Regional Health Collaborative is making significant impacts on the health outcomes of people living in regional and remote communities. This is being achieved through a coherent and coordinated approach to the translation of research knowledge and building capability among the health workforce to deliver best practice in healthcare across the region.

Gold Coast Health is hosting the Collaborative, which comprises six regional health services, two primary health networks, one rural education organisation, and six universities including several affiliated research, educational and clinical institutes and centres. The Collaborative serves a growing community of more than 1.9 million people, which is culturally, economically and geographically diverse. Of significance, the cross-border alliance with Northern NSW Local Health District supports the QLD and NSW governments’ commitment to identify and resolve cross-border issues that impede regional development and service delivery.
