The ArtBeat Book is the product of a GCH Improvers Event grant.
The concept; “to encapsulate the essence of ArtBeat in a book, to be sold at a profit to contribute to the sustainable provision of artistic programs within Mental Health and Specialist Services at GCH; in particular the ArtBeat Music and Arts Festival, the ArtBeat Art Exhibition and Gala openings…and so the ArtBeat Book Project began.” The coffee table style book features a collection of mental health consumer artworks, personal stories, songs, poems and photos from the ArtBeat Festival since it’s conception in 2014.
The book has been produced by Creative Artisan Helen Mason, Music Therapist Madeline Bridgland and Quality Coordinator, Tamirin Darch.
Retailing for $25 with 100 per cent of the proceeds going towards creative programs for GCH Mental Health consumers. Selling this book at an affordable price will also provide the opportunity to share the consumers’ stories with people who appreciate art, but may not have the budget to purchase expensive artworks. This will ensure the message of breaking down stigma reaches a much broader audience.
The 100 silk-page bound book with Spot UV varnish cover provides great insight into the mental health journey to hope and recovery.
The book is available to purchase with Australia-wide shipping options by phoning Gold Coast Hospital Foundation on (07)5594 6986.
